    Description

Here's a cool collectible for anyone interested in large displacement vintage dual sport bikes, Ducati or Cagiva racing history and the Paris-Dakar. This is a
Guiloy Cagiva Lucky Explorer 1/24 scale plastic model with a 904cc 85 HP Ducati engine and it's part of the la gigante coleccion de motos miniaturas. Starting in 1984, the Ducati Elefant was a top performer in African races, such as the Paris-Dakar, the Atlas Rally in Morocco and that of the Pharaohs in Egypt. Made by the Competition Division in Borgo Panigale, the Ducati L-twin cylinder had special pistons, a reinforced clutch, and magnesium details. It could travel at 200 km/h across the long desert trails of the toughest, most famous races of the world. Victory came at Dakar with Italian specialist Edi Orioli in 1990, he then repeated the feat in 1994. This bike is modeled after the Dakar winner, so I assume the year is 1994. It has Pioneer decals but different numbers than that of Edi Orioli's bike in a museum. It doesn't have Elf decals, it has Weber decals on the fairing bottom. I'm also including this October 8, 1986 picture from Dealer News: The Cagiva Lucky Explorer is made up in Lucky Strike colors and is powered by a 748cc Desmo twin that produces 80 HP at 9000 RPM. The dual-purpose bike has a top speed of 112 mph and weighs in at 506 pounds. The Cagiva features a 13.2 gallon gas tank with an electric fuel pump and also has another 2.6 gallon tank in the rear. The first 8 photos are what is for sale, the last 4 photos are the bike in the museum.
