ByredoSet #2
Byredo is a Swedish perfume house run by Ben Gorham who is inspired by places, feelings and nostalgic scents from his childhood. But he is no amateur AND he works with some of the finest and most articulate perfumeurs today. I collect Byredo because these are cleanly orchestrated, non-muddly concepts that are unique and beautiful. He has 61perfumes to date. All are unisex and all are EDP.
Let's explore a second set of Byredo. No substitutions please.
..also want to say that you will receive 10 samples, neatly labeled.
Bal d'Afrique EDP: 2009. Inspired by the avant-garde of Paris in the 1920's fused with African culture, this one is a handsome merging of the two. Violet, African marigold, jasmine, black amber, cedarwood. Warm woods and a heady jasmine make this quite intoxicating.
Pulp EDP 2008: LOVE this cedar, peach blossom, a little fig, a little blackcurrant. A wearable and desirable odd fragrance! Finely crafted, juicy, sweet, and balanced. First rate accords.
Encens Chembur EDP: 2008. Soft and spicy incense fragrance with a citrus opening, nutmeg, ginger, in amber and musk. So light, tho! If you find that these type of fragrances are too heavy for day, try this one. It is a restrained and easygoing incense.
Blanche EDP: 2009. A fresh take on white roses. Blanche is a white floral in sandalwood and was inspired by the creator's first newborn. He wanted to capture an innocence and moments of tranquility with his wife. True to his vision, it is a simple floral, light and pure.
Sunday Cologne EDP: 2011. Modern, light, citrus. One of my favorite combos. Sprayed lightly on linens is particularly joyful for me. It has some lavender and geranium to sharpen it up, with patchouli note. But the patchouli is very soft and not intrusive.
Bullion EDP 2012: Described by Byredo as a 'hymn to the scents of Arabia and ancient Persia', this is plum, leather, dark woodsy notes. But in the Byredo way, this is still light, delicate, and un-muddy. That plum and leather, tho!
Elevator Music: EDP 2018. An experimental collaboration with clothing brand, Off-White, Elevator Music is mainly violet, rhubarb, and jasmine in Ambrette. For me, this moves out of the realm of Byredo, and more into the realm of 'concept' fragrances. Interesting departure and not for everyone.
Flowerhead EDP 2014: Excuse me, this says feminine only, but I beg to differ! Totally subjective. That said, this is a FLORAL and different than most Byredo, can overwhelm. Apply lightly and you will love this.
M/Mink: EDP 2010. Interesting patchouli leaf and honeyed amber. A bit on the dark side, but with a sweet finish on the skin. The whole thing softens with time and is pretty amazing.
Palermo EDP: 2010. A scent of Sicily with its lemon and orange trees. A lot of musk and a whiff of rose. Skillful use of the bitter lemon and sexy musks.
+ Always a surprise bonus!
**PLEASE NOTE** These are 1ml and 2ml spray SAMPLES for you to test before buying a bottle of fragrance. You will not receive the bottles in the picture. The bottles are only to show you they came from an authentic source.
*FYI: I use 1.5 ml glass vials for the 1ml option. I found that the 1ml vials were inferior because of leakage, breakability, and difficulty opening. Sometimes opening a 1ml would splatter the fragrance everywhere. That is why the vials are a little over half full: they are in larger vials.
NOTE: My perfumes are 100% authentic from the original bottles, decanted in a sterile environment with nitrile gloves and a one use pipette or sterilized funnel to avoid any contamination. So please enjoy in CONFIDENCE.
