TO WIN, you need lots of riding ability, good luck, and a
mean motorcycle. A mean motorcycle: terrible amounts of
horsepower, no weight, superb handling, and reliability'.
Is the Bultaco 250cc Scrambler a mean motorcycle?
The machine weighs 212 pounds, with front fender at-
tached. The TT version puts out 36-38 dynamometer-tuned
horsepower. The Motocross model has a 31-hp engine that
comes on like a steam catapult — suddenly. Figure out the
powcr-to-weight ratios. You won’t be outgunned if you’re
    on a Bultaco.
You can HANDLE those horses. You get a Rickman-de-
signed frame and the new Bultaco long-travel forks and
shocks with hydraulic damping. The bike goes where you
aim it. As for reliability — unreliable bikes don’t win very'
    often. Bultacos do.
Go see your Bultaco dealer; he’s got a mean motorcycle for
you. But you’ll have to supply the riding ability. And luck?
The Bultaco riders seem to have been real lucky this year.
